Taiwan Trip

Hv been back from my TW trip for more than a mth, it's abt time I write someting abt it.

My 1st time to TW. Frankly speaking, I din hv much expectation for tis trip. Basically I wasn't expecting it to be fun or interesting. Probably bcos it's my very 1st guided tour & I've heard loads of unhappiness abt guided tour. Tings like waiting for others, cheating tour guides, lousy food etc.

But to my surprise, my TW trip was actually a fun, interesting and educational one. I dunno much abt TW (such as it's lifestyle, history & politics). Wat I gather r jus bits & pcs I saw on TV programmes & series. Thanks to my knowledgable tour guide, he has provided me wif a general view of tis country. Though such information seems unimportant, but it makes me hv a better feel of tis country & better appreciate its culture & people.

I'm probably blessed wif such nice tour guide. In fact the whole tour grp has been nice & friendly. There r very few of us, a total of 14 including myself & 2 friends. So the whole trip is easily organised & compromised. There isn't much waiting time either which explain the smoothness of the trip.

There r many tings which I've enjoyed during tis trip. First was my favourite shopping spree. I'm nt one who look branded or quality stuff. I enjoy browsing for small little gifts, value buy clothings & accessories. The nite mkts in TW totally fit into the bill. Besides, there r plenty of snack which I get to try out while shopping along the streets. The best ting is most of the snack r quite tasty.

Shopping @ Xi Men Ting is oso quite fun. It's a place for the youngsters. You c plenty of teenagers hanging ard, dressed in pretty winter clothings. The stuff sold r fashionable & vibrant. It makes one feel younger walking down the steets.

The weather though can be pretty cold but once adapt, I sorta enjoy the coolness. It oso gave me the opportunity to dress up in my winter clothings. Probably there r plenty there, the winter clothings n accessories r cheap and good. I manage to purchase a few stuff @ prices I can nv get in S'pore.

My first try @ the hotspring (san wen nuan) is another interesting event. Imagine soak in hot water (can b as high as 45 degree) in the open pool and jump into the cold pool (probably 5 degree). Initially find it quite unbearable, esp the cold pool. But wif the belief tat it'll help in the texture of my skin, I brace myself into those pools. It was really fun......

Then, there is the hot coffee drinking @ the hill top on a cold cold nite. Hmmm, sounds romantice, doesn't it. Nice view, nice coffee, nice ambience. & e restuarant/cafe actually provide blankets for us. How great.

I guess the trip was much fun oso becos of my TW colleagues. They have took turns to bring me out, showing me different stuff, telling me abt TW, buying tasty food for me to try. I must really thanked them for their hospitality.

Really hope they will visit me in S'pore & give me the chance to b a good host.
